Putri's comp - cemetery drive

Inspired by a song called 'Cemetary Drive'. It's one of my favourite digital peices, as I hadn't had much experience before and I'm still just as pleased with it.

LettersIt's been so long since I've written you a letter; but still, I use the same ink filled pen that had once been through so much use. I remember when I listened out for the post on Saturday morning; I washed and made myself up as if I really were to see you, when it was really just a wax sealed envelope I looked forward to seeing. I used to run down the stairs with such a smile on my face, and shouted to Papa not to worry to get out of his chair. Mama often told me to get my head of the clouds with those 'crazy letters' and focus on real reading. But they were real reading.  
I know we promised to write every week, and I know you looked fo Letters

Faults Are Thick Where Love Is Thin...

I couldn't agree more wholeheartedly. It’s a sad but common trait that people are selfish and self-centred. Of course, we do things for ourselves, but why is it, that some of us do a lot more for others than what they get in return?

Sadly, when those ' particular’ others realise just how much they had, just how much they’d been given – it’s too late. They lost probably the only person that ever truly loved them, through thick and thin, no matter what, whatever happened, they were always loved, and will always be loved, but that person just couldn’t stay to show it anymore.

Sometimes people show their affections through material, money, presents, etc, but whatever happened to the ‘thought’ – it is very much ‘the thought that counts’. So think, while you’re being bought or given everything you ever wanted, is that true affection? Or is that proof? - Proof that ‘somebody’ is there to buy and give such things, but not able to love through ‘the little things’. Little things like thinking of someone in each and every way. Maybe, leaving a sweet note on a condensated mirror; remembering their favourites, favourite movie, or favourite song; offering them ‘their’ side of the sofa, it might not be their sofa, but it’s always been their side; making ‘their’ favourite dinner, you might not like it, but you know ‘they’ do; letting ‘them’ hold the remote control, because you know it’s ‘their’ time for television; caring for them when they’re sick, for whatever reason; letting ‘them’ sit in the window seat of the plane, because they’ve never seen a place so high before...

Maybe just knowing, remembering, and thinking of those little things count more than that THING you wanted. But as I said before, as I sit, and I watch, and I listen, and I wait… just to know that I’m loved just as much as I love in return – It’s pushed aside, because I can’t PROVE my love through all the money in the world.

I’d give anything for those little things. I’d give anything for...

Even though my gallery may not show it, I have a passion for art. Whether it may be drawing, writing or photography - either way I enjoy all aspects and hope to make some sort of career out of it in the near future. Most artistic peoples dream, I guess.
I've met some of the most fantastic people on the site, even though my current status says otherwise, I've been around dA a very long time now, and I encourage anyone who may want to join. There's something for everyone.
